DARTMOUTH, N.S. - A man taking a walk in Dartmouth's popular Shubie Park stumbled across a grim discovery around 10:30a.m. on Saturday.

The walker called police after finding a woman's body along a trail. According to bikers and walkers who regularly visit the park, police and K9 units were combing through an area off the main path that is rarely used.

Authorities have identified the victim and confirmed that the remains were not those of Melissa Peacock, a 20-year-old woman who has been missing since November 7.

The woman's name was withheld until next-of-kin are made aware of the news.

However, investigators do ask for help in locating the victim's vehicle, a red 2000 Chevrolet Venture Van with a temporary permit in one of its windows. The number is unknown.

The cause of death has not been determined. An autopsy will be performed tomorrow.
