Body found inside abandoned vehicle in Smiths Creek, N.B.

RCMP are investigating the discovery of a body inside an abandoned vehicle in Smiths Creek, N.B.

Police say someone working in the woods near Carsonville Road spotted the vehicle and phoned police.

Police responded to the scene shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

An autopsy will be performed in Saint John to determine the person’s identity and cause of death.

An RCMP forensic ID team and the coroner's officer are assisting in the investigation.
