RCMP in Cape Breton are investigating after a man’s body was found in the Margaree River Monday evening.
Police received a report of a missing man before 8 p.m. They say the man was last seen fishing at 3 p.m. and failed to return.
Police, local fire crews and ground search and rescue teams conducted a search of the area.
RCMP eventually located the body of the 70-year-old man in the Margaree River, near Portree.
Foul play is not suspected and the man’s name has not been released.
