CHESTER, N.S. - Police have identified a 49-year-old man who went missing while snorkeling in the ocean off the south shore of Nova Scotia.

The Mounties say Peter Jeffery Horn and a relative were boating Sunday afternoon when Horn went snorkeling near Clay Island, just off the coast from Chester.

Horn, of Marriott's Cove, N.S., was last seen around 8:30 p.m.

RCMP Cpl. Scott MacRae says a passing sailing boat found Horn's body near Frog Island at about 11 a.m.

MacRae describes Horn's death as a "possible drowning," but he adds police do not suspect foul play.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy into the death.
