KENTVILLE, Nova Scotia - Two people face charges in the death of a man last year in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley.
RCMP say 22-year old Kyle Fredericks has been charged with criminal negligence causing death and trafficking in a controlled substance in the death of Joshua Graves.
Bradley Waye, 23, also faces a charge of trafficking in a controlled substance.
Graves, 21, died suddenly at a house party in Berwick on March 19, 2011.
An autopsy showed he overdosed on a fatal mixture of alcohol and hydromorphone – often referred to as dilaudid.
Graves' death became the driving force of a grassroots campaign – led by his sister Amy Graves – to get prescription drugs off the streets of the Annapolis Valley.
Police say information received from a public complaint since the death led to the criminal charges.
Fredericks is scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court on Apr. 2.
