HALIFAX -- Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for portions of Nova Scotia, P.E.I. and New Brunswick.

The statement is warning residents of northern Nova Scotia and southeastern New Brunswick to prepare for significant snowfall.

As well, residents of eastern P.E.I. are being told a low-pressure system could dump more than 30 millimetres of rain in Kings and Queens counties.

Up to 15 centimetres of snow is in the forecast overnight for parts of southeastern New Brunswick, Moncton and northern Nova Scotia and with higher amounts expected in higher terrain.
