HALIFAX -- Five people have been temporarily displaced after a fire damaged a two-storey home in Quarryville, New Brunswick.

The Canadian Red Cross says the fire was reported shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, along Route 108 in Quarryville, N.B., about 25 kilometres southwest of Miramichi.

There were no injuries reported, but the home was damaged.

A Red Cross volunteer in Miramichi arranged emergency lodging for a couple, an adult son and two grandchildren, and funds to buy clothing, food and other essentials while they await a damage appraisal and further help through insurance.

The Red Cross says they have also offered assistance for a man displaced by a fire that damaged a mobile home along Route 10, east of Fredericton, on Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported in that fire.
