UPPER GAGETOWN, N.B. -- Five members of an extended family in New Brunswick have lost their home to a fire.

The five escaped unharmed after the fire broke out early Tuesday in their bungalow in Upper Gagetown.

The fire on Route 102 gutted the home, about 30 kilometres east of Fredericton.

The Canadian Red Cross says a couple, their adult daughter and two grandchildren are staying with relatives in the community.

Disaster volunteers are helping the family by providing them with some personal-care items.
