Four men and one woman are facing charges after a 43-year-old Moncton man was stabbed at a house party on Robinson Street on Feb. 23.

The RCMP say the man sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries in the attack.

Officers arrested six Moncton residents the following day. Two men and a woman were released without charges while the three other men were held in custody and appeared in Moncton provincial court on Feb. 25 to face charges in connection with the alleged stabbing.

Brian Gordon Ingersoll, 54, was charged with aggravated assault. He was remanded into custody and is due back in court for a preliminary inquiry on May 25.

James Robert Burnside, 32, was charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping with a firearm and breach of an undertaking. He was remanded into custody and is expected back in court on April 22 to enter pleas.

Hugh John Ryan, 25, was charged with kidnapping with a firearm, aggravated assault and uttering threats. He was remanded into custody and is due back in court on April 13 when a date will be set for his bail hearing.

Police say further investigation led them to re-arrest the woman on High Street on March 4. Jami Susan Gillian Springer, 26, appeared in Moncton provincial court on March 5 and was charged with kidnapping with a firearm and aggravated assault. She was released from custody on an undertaking with conditions and is due back in court on Thursday to enter pleas.

Officers arrested an additional suspect at a home on Main Street at 5 p.m. on March 26. Police say the man tried to escape from the home but apprehended a short time later.

Kevin Stuart Dobson, 21, of Moncton appeared in Moncton provincial court on March 27 and was charged with aggravated assault and uttering death threats. He was remanded into custody and is due back in court on April 10 to set a date for his bail hearing.

Police say the incident remains under investigation and more charges are expected.
