Police say foul play is not suspected after the body of a missing Moncton woman was found in a local nature park on the weekend.
RCMP have confirmed that 29-year-old Alanna Greene was found in Mapleton Park, just off Mapleton Road, before 4 p.m. Sunday.
Greene was last seen walking on Mountain Road near Killam Drive around 5 p.m. Sept. 16.
Police say Greene had been out running an errand but she failed to return home and her family reported her missing.
Family friend Jackie Cahill says a search party started looking for Greene in Mapleton Park, using the guidance of a medium.
“The medium reached out and said ‘you’re too far in the woods, she’s not that far. Stop going so deep into the woods,’” says Jackie Cahill. “So four of the guys left us. There’s a gate, and they just started walking in. They walked by her a couple of times and then one of them saw her.”
Police say an autopsy has been ordered to help determine the cause of death.
