HALIFAX -- Police say they do not suspect foul play in the death of a man found unresponsive Monday in his Halifax jail cell.

The 23-year-old man has been identified as Clayton Daniel Cromwell.

The Halifax man was unconscious and unresponsive when found in his cell at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility.

He could not be revived and was pronounced dead about an hour after he was found.

Police say an autopsy was conducted Monday, but the cause of death has not yet been determined.

They say further tests are required and the investigation is ongoing.
