The New Brunswick RCMP is investigating the theft of two vehicles and thousands of dollars’ worth of chicken.

Police say a white Freightliner transport truck was stolen from the Nelson Soucy transport site on Long Boulevard in Clair, N.B. sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Police believe that truck was then used to steal a refrigerated trailer from Nadeau Poultry on Commerciale Street in Saint-François-de-Madawaska, N.B.

The trailer contained a full load of frozen processed chicken valued at $85,000.

Police believe the truck and trailer headed east on Route 120. The transport truck was later recovered by police near the Quebec community of Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, outside Montreal, without the trailer.

The transport truck was white, model FLD 120, with the name “Nelson Soucy” printed on the doors.

The trailer is a 2003 white Hyundai with “Nadeau Poultry” on the side and licence plate TIE 964 NB.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact police.
