Girl, 13, among six charged in Halifax drug bust

Police seized more than $196,000 worth of illicit drugs in the bust, including roughly 650 grams of cocaine, 13,000 doses of LSD, and about 250 doses of ecstasy and hydromorphone.

Two girls, aged 13 and 17, are among six people charged following a major drug bust in the Halifax area.

Police executed a search warrant on Convoy Avenue in Fairview around 11 p.m. Thursday.

They seized more than $196,000 worth of illicit drugs in the bust, including roughly 650 grams of cocaine, 13,000 doses of LSD, and about 250 doses of ecstasy and hydromorphone.

A quantity of cash, two loaded rifles and ammunition, a bulletproof vest and drug paraphernalia were also seized in the raid.

Police say four men and two female youths are facing several drug trafficking and weapons-related charges.

Jose Manuel Acosta, 25, Matthew Francis Coaker, 24, Neil MacDonald, 21, and Clayton Daniel Cromwell, 21 – all of Halifax – are due to appear in Halifax provincial court today.

A 13-year-old girl from Sambro and a 17-year-old girl from Herring Cove are both due in Halifax youth court.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
