A Halifax man is facing charges in a suspected case of child abuse involving his six-week-old infant.
Police responded to the IWK Health Centre around 6 p.m. Monday in relation to the case. They say the child had sustained life-threatening injuries.
After further investigation into the matter, police laid charges against the child’s father.
The 37-year-old man is due to appear in Halifax provincial court to face charges of aggravated assault and failing to provide the necessities of life.
