HALIFAX -- A 37-year-old Halifax man is facing charges in relation to three break and enters that occurred in downtown Halifax in November.

Halifax Regional Police have charged Steven James Dewolfe, 37, of Halifax with theft under $5,000, mischief and three counts of break and enter in relation to the following incidents:

  • Nov. 20: Police responded to a break and enter that had occurred at a parking garage at 5481 Clyde St. Police say a man broke the window of a vehicle parked inside and took electronic equipment.
  • Nov. 27: At approximately 5.a.m. police responded to an intrusion alarm at Julep Kitchen and Cocktails located at 1688 Barrington St. Police say a suspect broke in and took a quantity of alcohol.
  • Nov. 27: At approximately 8 a.m. police responded to a report of an intrusion alarm at LeadSift located at 1682 Barrington St. Police say the suspect broke in and took electronic equipment.

Police identified a suspect and at approximately 11 a.m. on November 27, officers arrested Dewolfe without incident in the 5500 block of Clyde St.

Police say he was in possession of some of the electronic equipment stolen during the Barrington Street break-in.

Dewolfe is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday to face charges
