Halifax Regional Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue to investigate the shooting death of a man in Dartmouth 20 years ago.

Police responded to a report of an unresponsive man found on a dirt roadway at the end of Morris Road in the Burnside Business Park around 1:24 p.m. on May 12, 1996.

Police say a pedestrian had been walking in the area when they stumbled across the man’s body.

The victim, David Robert Boyko, had been shot and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police say Boyko had been living in Manitoba at the time but was last seen leaving a hotel in Dartmouth around 6 a.m. the day of his death.

Boyko’s homicide has been added to the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers up to $150,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in certain cases.
