Police are asking for the public’s help in locating two men who are wanted in connection with an alleged abduction in Halifax earlier this week.

Halifax Regional Police responded to a home in the 3000 block of McAlpine Avenue before 5 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call from a 19-year-old man.

The man told police he had been assaulted and was being held against his will by several males inside the home. He also said one of the suspects had a handgun.

Police say he got out of the house and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers made contact with the occupants of the home and two 16-year-old boys were arrested. They have been charged with several serious offences, including kidnapping, unlawful confinement, uttering threats and aggravated assault.

No firearms were found inside the home. Police say the incident was not a random act as the parties are known to one another.

A warrant was issued Wednesday for the arrest of21-year-old Robert Roech Chan and 20-year-old Daniel Angus Ryan, both of Halifax, in relation to the incident.

Ryan is described as a black man with black dreadlocks and brown eyes. He is five-foot-eleven and 250 pounds.

Chan is described as a black man with short, black hair and brown eyes. He is six-foot-one and weighs 170 pounds.

Police say Ryan and Chan are each facing nine weapon-related offences, in addition to one count of unlawful confinement, uttering threats, extortion and robbery.

Police believe Chan and Ryan are still in the Halifax Regional Municipality. They are considered armed and dangerous and police say they should not be approached if spotted.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
