A 39-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after a stabbing in the Halifax area.
Police responded to a home on Oakvale Crescent in Timberlea shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday.
When they arrived on the scene they found a 26-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds. She was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police say the man, who is known to the victim, was arrested as he attempted to flee the home.
The suspect faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and break and enter.
He is due to appear in Halifax provincial court today.
Police say their investigation into the matter is ongoing.
