The Codiac Regional RCMP are investigating an assault that took place outside a Costco on Granite Drive in Moncton, N.B., on Friday.

Const. Brooke McNeil said a man was assaulted in the parking lot just before 5 p.m. and a suspect was later arrested.

“An altercation of sorts would have occurred and then the assault after,” said McNeil.

The man that was assaulted was transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Platoon Chief Brian McDonald of the Moncton Fire Department said firefighters responded to the call at the Costco parking lot along with Ambulance New Brunswick.

McDonald said he didn’t think the man’s injuries were serious.

The police investigation is ongoing.
