A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital after a violent break-in in Indian Brook, N.S. on Saturday morning.

Around 6:44 a.m. Indian Brook RCMP responded to a call at a residence on Meadow Brook Road.

Police say two suspects broke into a home and assaulted the man living there. The two suspects then allegedly fled from the residence.

The victim was taken to Colchester Regional Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Later in the day, officers arrested one of the suspects, 30-year-old Jeremiah Paul, at a residence on Mill Village Road in Shubenacadie.

Paul will appear in Shubenacadie Provincial Court on November 10, 2014 to face charges of robbery, aggravated assault, break and enter, assault and mischief to property.
