Police say a man has been charged after he allegedly broke into a home in Kingston, N.S., on Dec. 6.

The RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a home on Windsor Street around 11:20 p.m. They say a man had broken into the home, where a woman was sleeping, and asked her if she was alone.

When the woman woke up and saw the man, whom she didn’t know, she fled the home. Police say she was not physically injured.

Officers arrested 44-year-old Patrick Celestine Hyslop of Kingston a short time later.

Hyslop is facing charges of:

  •  breaking and entering with intent
  •  trespass at night
  •  failure to comply with a probation order (two counts)
  •  failure to comply with a release order (two counts)

Hyslop was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Kentville provincial court on Wednesday for a bail hearing.
