Halifax Regional Police say a man has turned himself in following a stabbing at a downtown parkade.

Police responded to the stabbing at 1554 Hollis Street, shortly after 4 a.m. on March 3.

Officers located the 28-year-old victim on the Granville Street level of the parkade suffering from stab wounds.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre with what were described as life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital, but police say his condition has improved.

Investigators were able to interview the man last week which led them to identify a person of interest in the case.

The 31-year-old Halifax man turned himself in to police shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday, at the Mellor Avenue office in Dartmouth.

He remains in custody and is being questioned by police at this time.
