Police in Toronto are searching for an Ontario man wanted for first-degree murder and they have reason to believe he may be headed for Halifax.
Darnell St. Clair Wright, also known as Darnell Grant, is wanted in connection with the death of 25-year-old Dartmouth resident Jefflin Beals, who was shot in Toronto on October 2.
Police say Beals was driving a black vehicle just before his death, which they found riddled with bullets near the west-end park when they arrived just after 3 a.m.
The discovery prompted police to search the surrounding area and they found Beals on nearby Crawford Street suffering from a single gunshot wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at St. Michael's Hospital.
Now they are searching for Wright, 22, who is believed to be armed and dangerous and on his way to Halifax.
Police say Wright is five-feet-ten inches and roughly 180 pounds. He has black hair and may have facial hair. He also has a number of tattoos on his body, including his neck.
He may be driving a 2012 four-door grey Hyundai Sonata with Ontario licence plate BMDZ 171.
Police are warning the public not to approach Wright, but to call 911 if he is spotted.
