There was a show of support for a local marijuana advocate who was in court Monday for a bail hearing.

Chris Enns was arrested after his store Farm Assists on Gottingen Street was raided by Halifax Regional Police on Thursday.

“Chris is going to jail for us,” said one supporter. “He spent all weekend in jail without his medication when he could have been with his wife because he's fighting for us when nobody else will.”

Enns has a license to grow, use and supply medicinal marijuana, but it's against the law to sell through a storefront.

Farm Assists opened in July and has been raided once before.

Customers say Farm Assists is a gathering place for medicinal marijuana users, not criminals.

"To say something like this is desperately needed for us to be ran right, and proper and legal. It's time. It's 2015,” said customer Pam Chesal following Thursday’s raid.

Enns has two previous drug-related charges, but both have been withdrawn.
