The results are in and Nova Scotia is the…winner?

From May 1 to May 31, CAA Atlantic asked Atlantic Canadians to weigh in and vote for the region’s worst roads. Any road in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador was eligible to win the title of Worst Road.

Seven Nova Scotia roads made the top 10 list while New Brunswick came in second with four roads named in the top 10.

Only one road in Newfoundland and Labrador is included in the list while no Prince Edward Island roads made the cut.

CAA’s third Worst Roads campaign attracted 4,045 voters.

“This campaign will help put a real focus on problem and dangerous road conditions in the region,” said Gary Howard, vice-president of communications for CAA. “By doing so we can actively engage all necessary levels of government to encourage repairs and changes.”

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Route 360 in Harbour Breton topped the list of worst roads in 2012.
