Highway 103 reopens to traffic nearly 24 hours after fatal crash
A woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision on Nova Scotia's Highway 103.
A section of Nova Scotia’s Highway 103 has reopened following a head-on collision that claimed the life of a Mahone Bay woman Monday morning.
Police and emergency crews responded to the crash before 10 a.m. in Oakhill.
Investigators said a transport truck was headed toward Bridgewater when it collided head-on with a car headed toward Halifax.
The female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as 40-year-old Janet Joanne MacNeil.
Highway 103 was shut down for almost 24 hours after the accident. Traffic was rerouted at Exit 11 and Exit 12.
Police said the road reopened just before 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The collision remains under investigation.
