HALIFAX -- Colchester RCMP have charged a 37-year-old South Branch man with assault with a weapon and uttering threats following an incident on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say they responded to a disturbance at 3:19 p.m. that involved "a man threatening another man at a workplace and then 'shocking, him twice with a conducted energy device," the RCMP said in a news release.

Police say they arrested Joseph Brian Burke later Tuesday evening at a residence in South Branch. "There were no serious injuries in this incident," police said in the news release.

Burke is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on Jan. 6, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.

Police say they are still investigating and there could be more charges.
