Halifax Regional Police say they have found “several items of potential interest” in connection with the shooting death of a man in Dartmouth last week.

Police searched three separate addresses in the Kennedy Drive and Spring Avenue areas between 6 p.m. Sunday and 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Police say they found several items during the search, but they did not say what those items are.

Investigators responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road around 5:20 a.m. on March 29.

When officers arrived, they found the body of a man on the sidewalk. He has been identified as 20-year-old Joseph Douglas Cameron of Dartmouth.

Police say Cameron had been shot and his death has been ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been made in the case, which remains under investigation.

Police say Cameron was not known to them, but they don’t believe his death was a random incident.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact police.
