RCMP say two deaths in northern New Brunswick may be part of a murder-suicide after the bodies of a man and a woman were found Monday.

Police say the body of 38-year-old Tanya Couture was discovered in her Clifton home around 11 a.m. Monday.

They are treating her death as suspicious.

They also say that earlier that day, the body of 27-year-old Jason Scott was discovered in an apartment in Bathurst.

Police say the pair was known to one another and they are investigating whether there might be a link in their deaths.

Autopsies have been scheduled to help investigators determine the cause of their deaths.

Police say they do not believe anyone else was involved in their deaths at this time but their investigation is ongoing.
