HALIFAX -- A 37-year-old man has been arrested after drugs and a total of 11 firearms were seized in Glassville, N.B.

New Brunswick RCMP say shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 26, officers were called to a home on Route 107 in Glassville.

Upon arrival, police discovered a loaded sawed-off shotgun and what are believed to be methamphetamine pills.

A 37-year-old man who had recently moved to the area from Ontario was arrested at the scene.

The next day, police executed a search warrant at the same residence, and seized 10 additional firearms, including some prohibited firearms, as well as prohibited magazines, various types of ammunition and a conducted energy weapon.

Police also seized a quantity of methamphetamine pills and powder.

The 37-year-old man was later released and is scheduled to appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on March 23, 2021.

The investigation is ongoing.
