The RCMP have released a video in an effort to track down a Moncton woman wanted for first-degree murder and arson.

Police say 20-year-old Marissa Shephard is wanted in connection with the “extremely violent murder” of 18-year-old Baylee Wylie last month.

The video contains additional photos of Shephard that demonstrate how easily she can change her appearance.

“I am asking everyone who watches this video to look at the pictures of Marissa Shephard closely,” says Codiac Regional RCMP Insp. Jamie George in the video.

“We know she is capable of changing her looks and could be just about anywhere. That’s why it’s important that you look at her pictures very closely.”

Wylie’s body was found by firefighters inside a burned-out triplex in Moncton on Dec. 17.

Shephard is considered dangerous due to the violent nature of the crime, but police have yet to release details about the cause of death or a possible motive.

Three other young people have since been arrested and charged in connection with the crime, but Shephard remains at large.

“Lots of information and photos have been circulating on social media and investigators have checked into that information, along with dozens of tips,” says George.

“Please share this video as much as possible and remember, Marissa Shephard is wanted for first-degree murder.”

Shephard is described as a white female with brown eyes and brown hair. She is five-foot-five inches tall and weighs roughly 100 pounds.

She has a tattoo with the name “Stephen” on her neck and a tattoo of a crown on her chest.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
