A New Brunswick woman has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death in connection with a fatal crash in November 2010.

Police say 22-year-old Cindy Doucet of Saint-Basile was driving northbound on Highway 11 in Beresford around 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 13 when she crossed the centre line and struck an oncoming car.

The driver and lone occupant of the oncoming car, 22-year-old Donald Jessie Meade of Belledune, died at the scene.

Police say their investigation revealed Doucet was driving 160 kilometres per hour at the time of the impact and that Meade had tried to avoid the collision.

Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash and police say road conditions were good at the time.

Doucet had initially pleaded not guilty to the charge and was scheduled to go on trial yesterday.

Instead, she pleaded guilty to the charge at the Bathurst Court of Queen's Bench.

She will be sentenced in Bathurst on March 27.
