RCMP in Nova Scotia’s Pictou County have recovered a stolen tractor-trailer loaded with roughly $200,000 worth of liquor.

Police received a call regarding the theft of a 53-foot tractor-trailer from Westville Road, in the Mount William area, before 5 a.m. Sunday. The truck contained a large quantity of liquor.

Police say the stolen truck was found in Debert later Sunday. Two men were arrested near the scene.

An RCMP helicopter and police dog helped in the search for the truck and the suspects.

Police recovered both the truck and the alcohol.

A 23-year-old man from Belmont and a 21-year-old man from Truro are in custody.

Police say they face charges of theft and possession of stolen property in connection with the case.

They are due to appear in Pictou provincial court at a later date.

Police are still investigating the matter and say further arrests and charges are anticipated.
