FREDERICTON - The Point Lepreau Generating Station in New Brunswick has been connected to the province's electrical grid again after two months of maintenance work.

NB Power says the nuclear station is operating at 77 per cent reactor power as it monitors equipment performances on its way to full power, which is expected on Saturday.

The planned maintenance outage began May 3.

NB Power says the outage took longer than expected because it took the opportunity to work on the station's transformers.

The next planned maintenance outage is scheduled for 2016.
