It’s a non-stop party in Halifax this New Years Eve, as the best in Maritime entertainment unite for a two-and-a-half hour live television event.The Shakedown Combo

Join the hosts of CTV Morning Live for Party on the Parade - the 19th annual New Year’s Eve celebration at Halifax’s Grand Parade. The show not only draws thousands of revellers to the live performance, but also entertains countless Maritimers across the country on CTV.

Bruce Guthro leads an all-star lineup of Maritime entertainers, including Lennie Gallant, J.P. Cormier and Charlie A’Court, along with a house band featuring some of the best players in the region.

Lennie GallantThe show begins at 9:30 pm with The Shakedown Combo, who blast out red-hot, bass-slappin' Rockabilly. Band members have thousands of touring miles under their belts- from across Europe to festival and club dates throughout North America. 

Also ringing in the New Year is Lennie Gallant- a well-respected songwriter who has recorded a total ofnine albums - seven in English and two in French. He has won numerous awards and nominations from the JUNOs and the East Coast Music Association and is a member of the Order of Canada.

J.P. Cormier is a singer, songwriter and most notably, a multi-instrumentalist.  His instrumental skill has JP Cormierastounded audiences around the world.  He has released a total of 13 solo albums since 1995 and won more than 30 awards in 20 years of fiddle, guitar, banjo and song-writing competitions.

Charlie A'CourtCanadian soul/roots artist, Charlie A'Court’s unique songwriting ability brings a contemporary twist to his solid blues style. His performances are always powerful and heartfelt – attracting fans internationally with his gutsy vocals and colourful yet solid guitar playing.

Bringing it all together is Bruce Guthro – a songwriter who has an amazing ability to promote not only the music from this Bruce Guthroregion but also the many musicians who live and work here. He is an entertainer in his own right and for the last ten years has also been the lead singer for the Scottish super group Runrig, which has a strong following in Europe. 

The show is hosted by CTV Morning Live hosts Heidi Petracek, Tina Simpkin and Cyril Lunney. The festivities get underway at 9:30 p.m. while the live broadcast starts at 10 p.m. on CTV Two. Maritimers across the country can watch the show via Bell Expressvu.
