FREDERICTON, N.B. – Sunday marked Mayor Brad Woodside's deadline for Occupy Fredericton protestors to dismantle their camp outside city hall.

The camp was erected on the property in mid-October.

Woodside believes he has been fair to the Occupiers outside the government building.

"I really gave it my best shot. I think I've been fair and all I've asked for, and I've been consistent, is that there needs to be an end date. When I met with them on New Year's Eve they made it clear there will be no end date. They plan to live there and two new people have moved there," he said.

The camp has generated a lot of attention in Fredericton. Some people aren't sure if it should stay or go.

"I don't know the reason why it's there so if I knew more, I would probably know whether it should come down or not," said Allen MacPherson, a Fredericton resident.

Woodside hasn't given an exact day for when city crews will dismantle the camp but he is insistent that police will supervise.

Protestors say they will continue to be peaceful regardless of the situation, but the city should expect a court date if city crews remove the camp.
