EAST WILTSHIRE, P.E.I. - A Prince Edward Island man has died after losing control of his car while navigating a bend on a rural highway.

Police say the crash occurred on Route 235 in East Wiltshire, about 15 kilometres west of Charlottetown, at about 11 p.m. on Thursday.

The RCMP says the 48-year-old driver crossed the centre line and overturned into a ditch, after he failed to navigate a turn in the road.

Glenn James Peters of Cornwall died at the scene.

Investigators say no one else was inside the car.

Police say they believe alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
