Police have identified an elderly man who died following a head-on collision in Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police responded to the two-vehicle accident on Main Street, near Fader Street, around 4:30 p.m. Monday.
According to witnesses, one of the vehicles was headed west on Main Street while the second vehicle was travelling east.
A 17-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment and later released.
The driver of the second vehicle, 71-year-old Wayne Webber of Dartmouth, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died a short time later.
The road was closed for several hours as police investigated.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
They are especially interested in talking to the driver of a 1957 Chevy believed to have been in the area at the time.
