Police in N.B. arrest man following drug trafficking investigation
Police have arrested a 52-year-old man from Saint-Maure, N.B., following a drug trafficking investigation in Campbellton, N.B.
On Nov. 29 at approximately 10 a.m. the Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU) arrested the suspect on Avenue des Pionniers in Balmoral with help from the New Brunswick RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, New Brunswick’s Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) and Justice and Public Safety.
The arrest came after the PCRU started a drug trafficking investigation in the Cambellton region in June 2023.
Following the arrest, police say officers searched the man and his vehicle and seized quantities of what is believed to be cocaine and cash. Police also seized the man’s cellphone and vehicle as part of the investigation.
Policed executed a simultaneous search warrant at the suspect’s residence on Chemin Saint-Maure in Saint-Maure. Police say they seized firearms, ammunition and drug paraphernalia from the residence and recovered a stolen all-terrain vehicle.
The suspect was released and is scheduled to appear in Campbellton Provincial Court at a later date.
The investigation is ongoing.
