Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a 20-year-old Dartmouth woman.

Melissa Dawn Peacock was last seen at her home on November 7. Police say her family and friends grew concerned because they couldn't contact her, and they reported her missing on November 9.

Police say there was some confusion in the beginning as to whether the young woman was actually missing, or if she had gone off on her own

Officers from several different agencies have been involved in the investigation into Peacock's disappearance, but police say all leads have failed to locate her.

They also say she has been known to go off on her own, but has never been absent for this length of time, and without staying in contact with her family and friends.

She is described as a bi-racial woman with brown, curly mid-length hair and hazel eyes. She is five-feet-one inches and 105 pounds.

Police say there is no indication at this time that Peacock has met with foul play, but her friends and family are concerned because it is out of character for her drop all contact with them.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being asked to call Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
