Cape Breton Regional Police are searching for a Sydney man who is wanted in connection with a shooting on Welton Street.

A gunshot was allegedly fired at two women who were standing at the back of a home in Sydney around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday.

No one was injured and police believe the women and suspects are known to one another.

Once arrested, 23-year-old Logan Myles Gregory will face charges of attempted murder with a firearm, uttering threats and breaching previous conditions.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Police say he is known to be violent and are cautioning the public not to approach him. They are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact them.

Police have arrested two other men in connection with the incident.

Troy Michael Rector, 36, of Sydney is due to appear in court Friday to face two counts of attempted murder with a firearm, two counts of possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless use of a firearm.

A 23-year-old Sydney man was found to be in breach of conditions while on parole. His parole was suspended and he was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre.
