RCMP in Nova Scotia are asking for the public's assistance in locating an Indian Brook man who is wanted in connection with an attempted murder investigation.

Police say they responded to an assault on Main Street in Stewiacke around 8 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, they found a 32-year-old Shubenacadie man who was unconscious and suffering from serious head injuries.

He was first transported to Colchester Hospital for treatment and was then transferred to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax where he underwent emergency surgery.

Police say the victim remains in stable but critical condition in hospital.

An arrest warrant for attempt to commit murder and aggravated assault has been issued for 30-year-old Andrew "Andy" Stephen Robinson in connection with the incident.

Robinson is described as six-feet-one inch and weighs roughly 220 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police are warning the public to be cautious as Robinson is known to be violent and has access to weapons.

They say he is not to be approached and that anyone who has information on his whereabouts is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
