Cape Breton Regional Police are looking for a suspect in connection with an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in Sydney.

Police responded to the Wendy’s on Welton Street before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say an employee was putting garbage out behind the restaurant when they were approached by a man armed with a knife. Police say the suspect demanded to be let inside the restaurant and, once inside, he demanded money from the employees.

There were six employees working at the time but no customers. Police say they weren’t injured but they were threatened by the suspect.

He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a white male with facial hair. He was wearing a grey hooded sweater and track pants with white stripes on the sides.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact police.
