Halifax Regional Police say they are looking for two vehicles as they continue to investigate the murder of a man in North Preston, N.S.

Police responded to a report of shots fired on Downey Road around 2 a.m. on April 23.

When officers arrived, they found the body of 20-year-old Daverico Downey on a pathway.

Downey’s death has been ruled a homicide.

Now, police say two vehicles were seen fleeing North Preston shortly after the gunshots were heard.

The first vehicle is described as a white car, which was seen leaving the Alex Lane area. The second vehicle is described as a dark-coloured SUV.

Anyone who may have seen the vehicles in North Preston in the early morning hours of April 23 is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Downey’s homicide has been added to the Nova Scotia Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers up to $150,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in certain cases
