Police are searching for a woman who allegedly threatened a security guard with an HIV-contaminated needle during a robbery.

Officers responded to a robbery at the No Frills store on Wyse Road in Dartmouth around 2:45 p.m. Sunday.

They say a woman left the store without paying for several food items. When confronted by a security guard, police say the woman threatened to stab her with an HIV-contaminated needle.

No needle was actually seen and no one was injured.

Police say the suspect fled on foot with the items, which were later recovered at the Metro Transit bridge terminal.

The suspect is described as a white woman around age 30. She wore a dark jacket at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
