Halifax police have seized 25 weapons and a quantity of drugs following related searches at two Dartmouth homes.

Police say they stopped a car Wednesday on Lombardy Lane and arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a break and enter in Dartmouth last August.

As a result of the arrest, officers later executed a search warrant at a home on Andover Street, where they found a quantity of marijuana, hashish, and drug paraphernalia, as well as four handguns and a rifle.

The Dartmouth man is due in Dartmouth provincial court Thursday to face a number of charges, including possession of a prohibited device, possession of marijuana, driving while disqualified, breach of probation and four counts of unsafe storage of a firearm.

A second search warrant was executed at a home on Braeside Court early Thursday where police found a Taser, ammunition, and 20 firearms, including 11 handguns.

Two 29-year-old women each face charges of possession of a prohibited device in connection with the second search.

They were released from custody and are due to appear in court at a later date.
