A Nova Scotia man has been charged after police seized cocaine during a traffic stop in Pictou County.

RCMP stopped the vehicle around 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Highway 104 in Thorburn.

During the course of the traffic stop, police inspected the vehicle and seized about 250 grams of cocaine.

The driver, a 51-year-old man from Barrington Passage, was arrested at the scene for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He appeared in Pictou provincial court Monday and has since been released.

He is due back in court on January 28.
