NORWAY, P.E.I. -- Police have identified a 20-year-old Prince Edward Island man as the victim of a fatal car collision on the Island early today.
RCMP say Jake Alfred McCue of Anglo Tignish died after a 1991 Ford Mustang left the road and struck a cement culvert and power pole.
The crash occurred on Highway 182 near the village of Norway at about 2 a.m.
Three persons were transported to Prince County Hospital in Summerside as a result of the collision.
McCue died at Prince County Hospital as a result of his injuries.
A 20-year-old man from St. Felix remains at the Prince County Hospital , while a 17-year-old woman from Anglo Tignish was subsequently transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown with extensive injuries she sustained in the collision.
RCMP say that speed and alcohol were contributing factors in this collision.
