RCMP in Cape Breton have identified a man whose body was found in the Margaree River Monday evening.

Police say George Arthur Clow was reported missing after he failed to return from a fishing trip Monday afternoon.

Police, local fire crews and ground search and rescue teams conducted a search of the area.

RCMP eventually located the body of the 70-year-old man in the Margaree River, near Portree.

They say Clow was from Sherbrooke, P.E.I.

The matter remains under investigation.
