The RCMP are investigating a fatal crash on Highway 105 near Whycocomagh, N.S.
Police responded to the collision around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
They say their preliminary investigation indicates a car crossed the centre line into the path of the oncoming tractor-trailer and the two vehicles collided head-on, just east of the Cape Breton community.
The driver, and sole occupant, of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Highway 105 was closed to traffic from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. as police investigated the scene.
A collision reconstructionist also attended the scene.
The name of the victim has not been released.
